Hughes wins by stoppage in the 1st round. Teabag wins. It was not even close. This just goes to show that the UFC old guard can't hang with the new breed of MMA fighter. The new guys have seen it all, are more well-rounded, and Brazilian Ju-Jitsu is not the mystery it once was back in the early 90's.

Still Royce was great in his time! One of my favorites!

The Great Race (Part 3) - Settled?

Isn't it obvious?
In a week full of absurdities (Sens out in 5) we have yet another controversy. Pictured to the left is a still shot of a 30fps video of the finish to the Great Race Part III.
Below is a zoom of the finish line whereby one can clearly see in pixel 342 that Dave's toe clearly beat Bag's finger to the finish line.
However, since we cannot be sure of the camera's angle the race is being officially called a draw.
This can only heighted the anticipation for the Great Race IV (tentatively scheduled for May 2007).

This is from a recent Geocache, the One-time pad by Mlord. The one time pad is a form of encryption thought to be theoretically unbreakable unless you have the key. I mentioned it at work, Slava went on and on about how they are unbreakable and Mikey bet me a breakfast and a coke that I would not figure it out within two weeks. It was actually a diminishing returns bet.. As follows:

If solved by midnight Friday April 14th Zartimus gets a Breakfast and a Coke(#2 becomes void)
If solved by midnight Friday April 21th Zartimus gets a Coke
If NOT solved by midnight Friday April 28th Mikey gets a Coke(#4 becomes void)
If NOT solved by midnight Friday May 5th Mikey gets a Breakfast and a Coke.

Cache was located by Zartimus at 7:36am Thursday April 13th.

Breakfast was delicious.. Thank you Mike!

Mike's knack for taking advantage of people's hearts over their brains has paid off yet again. Canada continued its lack-lustre performance by going down to the Russians 2-0 yesterday. While Bags heart cannot be questioned his wallet must be.
Let us just hope for Bagger's sake that this loss throws him into a depression thereby draining him of his desire for food so he may be successful in bet #2.

Why Does This Blog Exist?

Good question, which will be explained below.

Some time ago there came a realization that our group discussions often came to an unresloved conclusion (very often meaningless) which left many of our members with feelings of emptiness. In an effort to address those feelings, this blog will be the official log of any arrangments made to settle disputes involving discussions that ended with the words "you wanna bet!".

On a historical note, the name for this blog is a reference to episode 44 of the cartoon "The Flintstones" otherwise known as "The Gambler" episode. In that episode everytime Fred heard the word bet his excitement level would slowly build to an orgasmic crescendo where he would scream out the words "bet..bbbb...bet bet bet". Interestingly enough as a result, Arnold the paper boy was the recipient of most of the Flintstone's furniture which he used to spiff up his clubhouse. MF is our Arnold and so far DC is our Fred. Word has it that the "clubhouse" is near the "creek" somewhere.
